Private Yoga Retreats

  Green Tara Yoga Retreat invites you to escape into solitude for three days of breath, focus, and centering. These all-inclusive retreats are meant for a solo traveler or for you and a friend/partner. The maximum participants for each retreat is two people. Each experience is specifically designed to meet your personal practice and fitness level. Thus, all of our retreats are suitable for both beginners and those who are familiar with yoga. All are welcome.

Aerial Yoga & Aerial Yin

  Aerial yoga is for all ages and all abilities. It allows you to explore, refine and advance traditional asana both in the air and on the ground. Using a soft, fabric aerial hammock suspended from the ceiling, you’ll explore new and traditional yoga  postures with your body weight partially or fully supported. This allows you to expand flexibility, increase range of motion, build strength, lengthen the spine, and relax the nervous system. Never more than a few feet off the ground, you’ll let go into gravity and be held in the hammock. This is a time to be playful and challenge yourself!

  Yin yoga is a restorative practice where we will hold each pose for three to five minutes. The yoga swing will be suspended close to the ground to support you as you move slowly through the postures. This is a time to realign the body, center the mind and re-connect with your breath. 

Couples Restorative Yoga

Much like Tantra, couples yoga deepens the practice by including your lover in postures where breathing and moving together is key. 

SUP Yoga

  Moving at half the speed as you would on land, standing on a paddleboard gives a unique perspective of the horizon as we gently progress through the asanas. SUP yoga is a practice of integrity- your core must be engaged and your focus true as your breath leads you through the movement. 

Floating Meditations

Cocooned in silk, gently floating above the earth, relax into a guided meditation. 

Cat Yoga

From time to time, at the discretion of our boys, Cat Yoga will be offered free of charge.

Meditation Retreat

  Check in is at 3pm and after relaxing with a welcome tea, we will head into the studio at 4pm. This afternoon we will explore aerial yin for 90min, finishing with a gentle transition into a floating meditation. After dinner, time is set aside this evening for journaling and contemplation. 


   The next morning we will start our day at 7am with an aerial or SUP variation of sun salutation (90min), beginning first with a short introduction to pranayama and a brief meditation. Pranayama is the regulation of breath and we will learn about and practice Nadi Shodhana. Traditionally, we first do asana, then pranayama and finally meditation. However, I find that by taking the time to focus on the breath and center, our physical practice is enhanced. Awareness of breath and then synchronizing breath and movement is what makes yoga, yoga. Once we have completed the asanas, we can smoothly transition into pranayama and a deeper meditation. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the practice and it is my sincerest hope that by the time a guest leaves the retreat, they are completely comfortable integrating pranayama and meditation into their daily practice. After a light breakfast and a short break, you will find yourself being pampered with a 60min deep tissue massage. The early afternoon is yours for a leisurely lunch, contemplation, journaling or meditation.  

 At 3pm we will meet back in the studio for 90min of aerial yoga, beginning the session with Kapal Bhati pranayama. Afterward, relax into a 30min guided floating meditation. After dinner, the evening is yours for contemplation and journaling. 


  The next morning we meet again at 7am for our final yoga session (90min, SUP or aerial) beginning with pranayama and finishing with an energy healing session. After breakfast (if you choose), my final offering to you is a tarot card reading, to help guide you on your path. Check out is at 11am.


You will be staying in our home in a private room with a queen size bed and your own bathroom. All meals and snacks are included. The yoga studio is just yards from our home and Kitsap Lake is less than a mile away. Transportation to and from the lake as well as all equipment is included. From time to time, cat yoga will be available, at the discretion of our two lovely boys, Cat and Kitten.

Green Tara Yoga Retreat will be temporarily unavailable as we make the transition from the beautiful PNW to the beautiful island of Guam. 


Misty Dawn is a world traveler who has dedicated her life to helping people better understand their bodies and love the skin they're in. For her yoga training, Misty journeyed to India where she earned her 200hr teaching certificate. She has studied Thai massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand, energy healing of Jin Shin Jyutsu in Japan, tarot card reading and Reiki in Arizona, and dance & meditation in both Bali and India.

Everything was perfect, from the duration, the schedule, the cost, and the inspiration. The balance between yoga, meditations, discussions, and contemplation helped me so much. It was so special to be the only one in your studio and to get private instruction. I loved the SUP yoga and the chance to journal the most,  especially using that time to incorporate your advice and wisdom.  The tarot reading was truly an added bonus!

The meals were fresh and nourishing,  the massage was wonderful but I think I would have done the aerial yoga first and massage later, knowing what I know now!  I really got everything I wanted from the experience and I'm still integrating the changes and decisions that I made during the retreat.


Everything I wanted and more. Great host, instructor, confidant, scheduling master, chef, masseuse and overall amazing spirit to be found in Misty Dawn. She took care of everything and offered a perfect space to be guided through my 'novice-ness' of yoga and allow for times of self reflection with no pressure of schedule. Which is not to say there wasn't one... we got so much done in such a short time. I was exposed to a variety of meditation styles and well as yoga forms. Accommodations were wonderful.... the bed was awesome! Food was simple, healthy and delicious. Pretty simple to find and the dismount was also easy. I didn't have a lot of expectation around what a solo yoga retreat was to be but everything was perfect in all of it's idiosyncratic ways! Thank you Misty!


Misty went out of her way to make sure the food, accommodations, and practice were tailored specifically to the needs of their guests. Meals were simple yet nutritious, the accommodations were well appointed with thoughtful details, and the yoga studio was private and charming. Misty’s schedule for her guests was well balanced between learning and relaxation, all lending itself to a true feeling of “three days of solitude.”


The retreat has had such a positive impact on my life, thank you so much for opening your home and your heart to me. 


My husband and I felt comfortable and welcomed immediately upon arriving which continued through the entire retreat. Misty was very understanding with our schedule and patient with us as we are new to yoga. She was happy to modify movements to meet us where we were at. Meals and accommodation were excellent. Cat and Kitten were fun to watch as we love cats :). The retreat exceeded our expectations. We were looking for something different than our typical trips, hoping to come home feeling more relaxed. And turns out this was the perfect getaway for us! We learned some great yoga poses and massage techniques that we can easily incorporate at home. Thank you, Misty - you have set the bar high for our yoga retreat and overall vacation experiences!!

What is included?

Two night's accommodation, all equipment and all meals, snacks, coffee, tea and water. The food served at Green Tara Yoga Retreat is vegetarian. If you have any dietary restrictions please notify us at the time of booking.

What should I wear?

For the retreat, please bring loose, comfortable clothing for lounging.

For aerial yoga, more clothing is better. Not to say you can't wear shorts and a sports bra, just that while you are getting used to the hammock, the protection of a t-shirt and can be nice. Excessively baggy clothing should be avoided and jewelry should be removed before getting on the hammock. 

For SUP yoga, wear what will be the most comfortable for you, be it active wear or a swimsuit.



The full amount paid for the retreat is refundable fourteen days before the initial date of arrival.
